USA Truck Receives 5,000th Freightliner, Presents It To Tenured Driver Wilson | Business
USA Truck received its 5,000th Freightliner truck in company history and presented the tractor to one of its most tenured driver team members Thursday during a ceremony at USA Truck’s corporate headquarters in Van Buren, AR.
Eddie Wilson is a resident of nearby Pocola, OK and a 28-year USA Truck driver team member. He is also a Gold Level Member of the President’s Million Mile Club with more than 3 million safe driving miles.
“I am honored to present the keys to this special Freightliner tractor to someone who has also had a long-term relationship with the USA Truck family,” Simone said. Wilson, after accepting the keys and a certificate commemorating the event, said he was “humbled” by the honor.
Along with a large group of USA Truck team members, Simone welcomed special guests in attendance from company partners Truck Centers of Arkansas and Freightliner/Daimler, as well as USA Truck founder Robert Powell, before speaking of the longtime partnership between USA Truck and Freightliner.
“Freightliner has a reputation for excellence and consistency in performance, and those are things we strive for every day here at USA Truck,” Simone said. “We are proud to commemorate this milestone and we appreciate the partnership that has developed over the past 25 years — a relationship that has spanned nearly as long as the 30 years we’ve been in business at USA Truck.”
USA Truck first partnered with Freightliner in 1988, when it purchased its first Freightliner model. The company’s 5,000th Freightliner truck is a Cascadia 125-inch sleeper equipped with a Detroit DD15 TC engine. The truck features decals on the doors that not only mark the milestone, but also commemorate long-term relationship between the two companies with the words, “Strong Relationships Last a Lifetime.”
